(laying the tongue and groove wood floors at 1520 Curlew)
After a year in the making we are looking forward to the launch of our new on-water home at 1520 Curlew in Naples, Florida. This 3,000+ square foot home with four bedrooms and four full baths with outdoor fireplace and pool and spa is ready to become someone’s Naples Best Address.
Yesterday we were laying the tongue and groove floor in the great room and master and tomorrow the trim will be finished up. Next week is final landscaping and staging and we will be ready to show it to you. Give us a call at 239.595.3921 or just come by and see us. I am seriously thinking about a continuing open house here and computing by boat!
(we built this fabulous new on-water place in the style of the Key West homes we love – metal roof, old-fashioned porch, cupola and that oh so popular coastal contemporary interior design – we are ready to show it to you March 22!)
Last week at dinner one of our clients asked “Where is Royal Harbor?” Kind of surprising us really since it is a beautiful peninsula jutting into the north side of Naples Bay providing canal side homes and unbelievable access to town, a resort, beaches and the boating life. It may be a kept-secret amongst recent Naples arrivals. Let’s take a look at this beautiful area this morning and see how the real estate market is fairing here.
Royal Harbor and its related neighborhoods of Oyster Bay and Golden Shores are perched on top of Naples Bay looking west toward Aqualane Shores and Old Naples with beautiful views of the bay opening to the south. This area is one of the last places available to enjoy single family homes on Naples Bay and live west of US 41 for under $1,000,000. New construction is going for well over $2,000,000.
Royal Harbor’s attractions are many. First you have unrestricted access to Naples Bay and the Gulf of Mexico from your own back yard. Walk out the back door, climb in your boat and head out to sea. No bridges and only two “no wake” zones (about five minutes in town and another about 100 yards long at Gordon Pass) before you enter the Gulf of Mexico.
(boat into town and enjoy a meal or head to the Gulf for Sunset)
Boat into town if you would like and head for the city dock. Walk in to Bleu Provence or maybe boat over to the Dock Restaurant or the Boat House. For quieter waters head down to the back country on the inside route for tubing, cruising or maybe a beach walk on Keewaydin Island (please see our video on this island at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dW-ox2t4JM).
In addition to the boating life you have a short walk to the Naples Bay Resort (http://www.naplesbayresort.com/deals/land-excursions-packages?gclid=CKKl1cbhlL4CFRIV7AodL2sADA). Some people come to Naples for vacation and stay at the resort. You can “vacation” every day by staying at your own private, on-water home and walking over to the resort to enjoy resort living. Head for the spa, water adventures, land excursions and family outings – all are waiting for you there. If you are on the north end of the peninsula especially in Golden Shores the resort is an easy walk. Sign up and become a member if you wish.
(two doors down our new on water British West Indies home at 1480 Curlew will be ready in four weeks)
If you are fortunate enough to have a southern or west exposure property – like these new homes on Curlew – be sure to head home later in the afternoon and enjoy some warm time at your pool and in your backyard. The sunsets and late afternoons here are just what the doctor ordered in the dead of winter. I like the idea of sitting on the dock in a comfortable chair and enjoying a beverage responsibly soaking in the rays – in January!
After sunset cook a meal on your grill or maybe head out on the town. Some people walk to Old Naples from here especially if you live on Curlew (closest to the sidewalk to town). Those further south in Royal Harbor might jump in the car. Once you are on Fifth Avenue South enjoy the restaurants and night life and then just walk home.
How is the real estate market fairing in Royal Harbor? Very well thank you. If you walk through these Royal Harbor, Oyster Bay and Golden Shores neighborhoods you will see new construction underway with builders viewing these neighborhoods as prime locations for 2015-16 home sales. Renting is also an option but book early. Some renters book a year in advance here.
(head down the back country to the beautiful beaches of Keewaydin Island)
I hope you have an opportunity to visit or live in Naples or Marco Island. If you would like to know more about living here just give us a call at 239.595.3921.
