As our Realtor twitter followers know we pay for real estate referrals to Naples Florida to licensed Realtors in other states and countries. We are especially thankful for our northern friends in Canada who visit Naples each season.
It is estimated 20% (and perhaps growing) of all Naples real estate purchases are from Canadian citizens and why not? Frequent flights to Southwest Regional Airport, a fantastic winter climate, and welcoming culture and many countryman already here. For example serving on our Country Club Board of Directors this morning there three of nine directors, including the president, are from Canada.
According to NABOR (Naples Association Board of Realtors) report from two days ago “When the US real estate market falters, international buyers go on a shopping spree! It’s no secret that international buyers are snapping up bargains here in SWFL, but did you know that Canadians lead the pack! Canadians accounted for 23% of all international buyers (NAR Global Perspectives) – We know that in SWFL that number is substantially higher. In fact, the Bank of Montreal advises that one in five Canadians will consider buying property in the US.”
Imagine Naples real estate with its single digit volume growth without our friends from Canada? We have previously reported on the recovering Naples real estate market with 15%+ price increases in 2011 and shrinking supply. Take away the 20% buyer volume from our Canadian friends and you wonder if our single digit volume growth would remain positive – not so great.
So today thank your Canadian friends in Naples for all that they do. Not only are they good friends, they are good for our local economy. And if you have Canadian friends up north looking for property, please refer them our way, we will take very good care of them.
