CNBC reported this morning on the continued real estate recovery in the United States (http://www.cnbc.com/id/48760858). Good news for all, including an increase in job opportunities which traditionally follow a real estate recovery.
The news in Naples, Florida this morning is local real estate inventories have now fallen below seven months for the first time in a long time. Even with slower volumes in the summer off-season months our property supply continues to decrease. What we are seeing is a steady decrease in supply as buyers out numbered sellers over the last few months. With high season on the way an increasing number of visitors against a shorter supply could do some interesting thing to prices.
Readers of this blog will know this good news is unevenly distributed so get with a Realtor and know your local markets. Some areas of Naples have longer supplies and the position is slightly different. While fishing the back country with a good friend yesterday he reported some Chicago neighborhoods still see multi-year inventories. BUT … the overall numbers are improving and we are a lot better off than we were a couple of years ago.
As we brace for Hurricane Isaac we hope for the best here weather-wise and for continued good fortune in an improving real estate market.
