Last night was a big night for us at Naples Best Addresses as we sponsored our first charitable event, the Windstar on Naples Bay Gives Back weekend for the Boys and Girls Club of Collier County. Boys and Girls Club is a wonderful organization providing a safe place for kids to go after school to play and study. Sports teams abound and study tables can be seen throughout the clubhouse. One young man told us he likes Boys and Girls Club because it gives him a chance to get out of the house and focus on his studies – my kind of guy!
Living in Naples provides opportunity to give your talent, time and treasure to over one hundred non-profit organizations. Many residents find second careers helping out and giving their time in all sorts of ways – building houses at Habitat for Humanity, delivering meals for Meals on Wheels, volunteer work at Boys and Girls Club, Church outreach and many more opportunities. Financial donations, even in these tough times, are also holding up OK. With one of the highest per capita incomes in the country and good hearts Naples continues to give financial support to its non-profits. There is a good combination of wealth and social responsibility and you can put yourself in the middle of it and have a very rewarding time. Just because you move down here does not mean you have to restrict yourself to personal pastimes, you can still make a difference in the lives of others your whole life.
