The day after Easter. A later Easter at that. This is another day on the calendar when our seasonal friends pack up and head north for the summer. It was 72 degrees in Chicago yesterday for goodness sakes. Time to head back north and open up the house.

The article speaks to colder weather up north and the joys of Naples in slower times, smaller groups and more accessible restaurants – and plans for many folks to stay here for a few more weeks.
I am not surprised. Of course I am a little biased since I live here year round and I don’t know why anybody heads back up north. Jobs and career sure. And yes I miss my northern friends but it is my not so secret hope they all move down here one day.
The recent real estate show folks sure like the place and are rushing to own a piece of it. Over the last three months Naples prices are up 15%+. Yep you read it right – in three months not one year prices have really jumped. Over the last month prices are up 8%+. Now sure those are “peak season” months but last year the summer did not see much of a slowdown. We do see some decline in volume coming when looking at pending sales – a sales pipeline figure which shows we will probably see slower sales volumes added up for this month and the next few months – but … prices may stay right in there as inventory remains so slow.
Anyway, if you are here. Get ready to enjoy a slower pace of living. If you are up north, hurry back down here and see us – and do not let the real estate market move on without you.
