A drive around town will reveal an emerging sense of confidence among spec home builders and renovators. Talk to them directly and you will hear of business backlogs again and general optimism. Peer into the Sunshine MLS system and just try to find available land or tear downs to make a profit and you will find short supply. Read the headlines in the Naples Daily News and you will learn of new development projects. Yep, things are blooming again.
Naples real estate seems to follow a national trend here. Florida Realtor reported “Confidence among U.S. builders ticked up this month to a five-year high, an indication that the housing market is slowly improving. The National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo builder sentiment index rose in June to 29, the highest reading since May 2007. It increased from a reading of 28 last month, which was revised down one point from its initial figure.”
All this makes a lot of sense given our lower inventories now at 7 months plus.
What does all of this mean for buyers and sellers? Rising prices and competing offers in some cases for the buyers and brighter days for sellers – although nowhere near where we were.
Nice to see things continue to move forward in Naples real estate.
