Just heard from our good friend Kelly – here are Sunbelt’s latest rates … a representative comparison of interest rates compared to monthly principal and interest payments:
Loan Amount of $150,000.00 on a 30 year fixed rate mortgage at:
4.25% $ 738.00 ( 4.92/000)
5.25% $ 828.00 ( 5.52/000)
6.25% $ 924.00 ( 6.15/000)
7.25% $ 1023.00 ( 6.82/000)
Current rate for the 30 year fixed is 4.625% and is headed up!
As your clients wait for the prices to POTENTIALLY move down, they could end up paying more in the long run with the rising trend of financing. $10,000 lower mortgage amount equals about $65.00 per month in payment. That is about the same amount a .75% increase in interest rates will have on the monthly payment.
